Teruel, a province in the north eastern part of Spain, has the reputation of being a rural province because of many reasons. The province of Teruel borders many other provinces of Spain which include Cuenca, Castellon and Valencia, Guadalajara and Tarragona. Because of that it has a great strategic location and many travelers pass by it in the tourist route. The capital city of the province is also named as Teruel.

There are only 35000 people living in the capital city of the province. However the city is historical as it existed in the times of Moorish invasions of Spain. The remains of that era are very much visible as the streets of the city of Teruel have the characteristic Moorish architecture. The city also provides a wonderful display of contemporary art in Spain. The Mudejar architecture of the city is a declared UNESCO world heritage site and holds great importance for people from different parts of the world.

The province of Teruel is very remote and it has a low population. There are only around 140000 inhabitants in the province. Most of these people live in the capital city of the province. Apart from that there are more than 200 villages and towns in the province where the rest of the population lives. One of the reasons for which the province is regarded as rural, is its immense natural beauty. There are high mountains, landscapes, valleys and rivers which are all worth seeing. The infrastructure of the province is good. It has some fine roads, modern cities and well preserved historical places. There is snowfall in most parts of the province in the winter months.

For these reasons many tourists arrive at the famous ski resorts of the province for enjoyment. Teruel is highly regarded by lovers from around the world as there is a beautiful mausoleum of two lovers in the villa in spain. There is a tale behind that mausoleum. It is a story of a boy and a girl who were madly in love with each other. The cruel father of the girl married her elsewhere while the boy was away. When he came back he asked the girl for a kiss which she denied because of her being loyal to her husband, because of which the boy died and at his funeral the girl died near his coffin. So a mausoleum was constructed in the memory of two lovers and people from around the world visit this frequently.
